We have arrived well in 2023!

We have arrived well in 2023!

We wish you all a happy new year, good luck and health! In addition to some minor work on the ship, yesterday we laid down the plan for the night watches for the coming days, so that from now on everyone can prepare for their watch during the day with a rest or a nap. Two crew members will always take over the night watch together in a rotating system from 20:00 to 08:00 in the morning. In the afternoon we had a delicious pasta with eggplant, celery, carrots and tomatoes from the well-stocked net with fresh fruit and vegetables. Otherwise, apples, tangerines, cereal bars and all kinds of other small snacks help against the small hunger during the day. We will always try to arrange a joint hot meal in the afternoon, provided that the weather permits cooking. Shortly before the start of the night watch, we changed our course slightly to the south in order to get past the predicted light wind, which will then gradually be replaced by stronger wind from the north, as quickly as possible. So that everyone gets enough sleep, considering the watch system, we have decided to welcome the new year together only this morning with a champagne breakfast and scrambled eggs. Today we continue our course to the south and wait for the forecasted wind from the northeast, which should push us towards the Cape Verde Islands. The predicted wind hole is luckily absent, and we make at least around 3 knots of speed with at least 10 knots of wind. Overall, we are progressing a little slower than planned, but are confident that we can make up some time with the hopefully upcoming winds from the northeast.
